Other draughtsmen employ Katers visual language

The trading cards serve
two purposes:

1. They remind the recipient that they can place an order and with a text like this:
Write about of an event or situation from your life (and your thoughts and feelings on the matter) - I’ll make a drawing from this and send it to you!
It's free!
Write to: Hannes Kater, 172 Spring Street, # 10, New York, NY 10012
or: hanneskater@email.com

2. A performer (as Hannes Kater calls the symbols he uses) is introduced by name on the colored side in the center of each trading card.

The trading cards are generally exhibited on a wall mount, easily-reached and made accessible enough that anyone can take a card. The performer, Birdbrain, is on the first card.

The performer, Birdbrain, is on the first card.
Right now (April 2003), there are 24 different trading cards (in German only), each introducing a different performer. Here, for example, is the trading card with performer Info Nr. 14 (text on the right):

Hannes Kater: Auftragskärtchen/ Darstellerinfo Nr. 14: Knoten - 277x169 Pixel
Name of performer: Knot

The performer introduced on the front of each trading card, appears on the reverse side in a drawing.

Trading cards are also
collectibles:

He collects basketball and football cards
too.
